The Montréal Roses fell 3-2 to Vancouver Rise FC on Saturday afternoon at Stade Boréale, suffering their first defeat of the season. A one-goal lead given back early in the first half, and a late Jessica De Filippo strike in the 86th minute, decided the match. The Roses (4-1-1) hit the road on June 13 in Toronto before returning home on June 21 against Calgary Wild FC, the first of four straight matches at Stade Boréale; tickets are on sale starting at $28 at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.

Elyse Bennett got the Roses off to the start they wanted, scoring her fifth of the season in the 8th minute to retake the outright lead atop the NSL scoring chart. The advantage lasted just eight minutes: Anouk Bout equalized for Vancouver in the 16th, setting the tone for an open 45 minutes. Chloe Minas hit the post twice, in the 39th and again in stoppage time, and the teams went into the break level at 1-1.

After three straight matches on the road, the Roses are home. Montreal returns to Stade Boréale on Saturday with the best record in the league at 4-0-1, still the only team yet to lose this season. The opponent is a familiar one: Vancouver Rise FC, the defending champions, beaten 4-0 here on May 2.

Saturday in Ottawa was the response the Roses were looking for after Calgary. A week earlier, they had let a late lead slip and conceded in stoppage time for a 2-2 draw. Against the Rapid, second in the table and one point back of Montreal going in, the finish held this time. Tanya Boychuk scored twice in the first half, and the defence saw out the win after the break. Five matches in, the Roses have conceded just three goals.

The Montréal Roses picked up a 2-1 road win over Ottawa Rapid FC on Saturday afternoon at TD Place, behind a first-half brace from co-captain Tanya Boychuk. Ottawa controlled long stretches of the second half, but the Roses defence held firm to see out all three points. Five matches in, Montreal is still unbeaten and still atop the Northern Super League standings. The Roses (4-1-0) return home next Saturday at Stade Boréale; tickets start at $28 at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.

The first half belonged to the Roses. Boychuk opened the scoring in the 15th minute, her third goal of the season, and doubled the lead in stoppage time of the first half for her fourth. Montreal went into the break up 2-0, having been clearly the better side on the day.

The Roses (3-1-0, 10 points) head to Ottawa on Saturday for the first meeting of the season between the league’s top two sides. It’s also Montreal’s third consecutive road match before a well-earned return to Stade Boréale on May 30 against Vancouver Rise FC.

The trip to Calgary left a bitter taste. Ahead in the 90th minute on Claire Monyard’s late strike, the Roses watched the Wild reply in stoppage time to grab a 2-2 draw. Two points dropped, and a three-match clean-sheet streak gone.

The Montréal Roses’ perfect start to the season is over, but their unbeaten run lives on. Twice in front at McMahon Stadium on Saturday, the Roses were twice pegged back, and a 90th-minute go-ahead goal from Claire Monyard proved heartbreakingly brief as Calgary Wild FC struck again in stoppage time to force a 2-2 draw. The Roses (3-1-0) remain at the top of the table. Their next home match is May 30 at Stade Boréale, with tickets on sale from $28 at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.

For an hour, this looked like a routine afternoon for the visiting club. Lisa Pechersky put the Roses ahead in the 24th minute, and Montreal dictated the match without much trouble, keeping Calgary at a distance and carving out the better looks. A 1-0 lead at the break felt, if anything, modest.

Three matches, three wins, no goals conceded. The Roses head to Calgary on Saturday with the best record in the league and a chance to become the first team in the young history of the Northern Super League to open a season with four straight wins. It will also be a second trip to McMahon Stadium in under a month, following the 2-0 win in the season opener.

Sunday’s match in Toronto showed just how much depth this group has built. The score was still 0-0 past the hour mark when Robert Rositoiu made his move, sending Evelyn Badu on for her first NSL minutes. The Ghanaian international didn’t need long to make her mark: she delivered the assist on Elyse Bennett’s game-winner in the 88th minute. A complete answer to a fair question, namely how this team would respond when it found itself in a less comfortable spot than in its first two outings.

Montréal, Thursday, May 14, 2026 – Montréal Roses President Annie Larouche informed founders and investors Jean-François Crevier and Isabèle Chevalier this past March that her mandate would conclude on June 5. Until then, she will continue to support the organization to ensure a smooth transition and to facilitate the onboarding of her successor. The Roses are also announcing that Patrick Boivin will serve as interim with the club during this period. Involved with the project from the outset as an advisor to the co-founders, and subsequently as an investor, he will bring his extensive experience in professional sport and organizational leadership to ensure continuity of operations and to support the organization through this next phase.

Since the inception of the Roses, Annie Larouche has played a central role in building and developing the club. Drawing on her experience in professional sport, she helped establish the organization's foundations, structure its operations, recruit a high-calibre team, and position the Roses as a credible and ambitious organization within the Canadian sports landscape.

The Montréal Roses earned a third consecutive win to open their 2026 season, defeating AFC Toronto 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at BMO Field on a late strike from Elyse Bennett. Anna Karpenko picked up a third straight clean sheet with seven saves in a match Toronto controlled for long stretches. The Roses (3-0-0) return home on May 30 at Stade Boréale; tickets are on sale starting at $28 at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.

Toronto set the tempo through the opening half, generating chances and pinning the Roses deep. Karpenko held the line with a string of decisive saves before the break, with the visitors struggling to build clean possession out of the back. Both teams went into the dressing room at 0-0, a reflection of a half which the defensive group did all the heavy lifting.

The Roses travel to Toronto on Sunday with a perfect record, a clean sheet streak, and the team that ended their 2025 season waiting on the other side. The first two matches have set the tone. Now comes a real test of whether it holds.

Saturday’s home opener at Stade Boréale delivered the line of the young season: 4-0 win over the defending champions. Tanya Boychuk, in her first start of the year, scored a brace. Elyse Bennett added her third of the season to keep her at the top of the league’s scoring chart. Anna Karpenko picked up her second straight clean sheet. Two matches in, the Roses have yet to concede.

The Montréal Roses gave their home crowd a night to remember Saturday at Stade Boréale, downing the Vancouver Rise FC 4-0 in their 2026 home opener. The defending NSL champions had no answer for a Roses side that took control early and never let go. Co-captain Tanya Boychuk netted a brace, while Elyse Bennett and Noémi Paquin also got on the scoresheet. The two clubs will meet again at Stade Boréale on May 30 for their second matchup of the season; tickets are on sale starting at $28 at en.rosesmtl.ca/tickets.

Bennett opened the scoring once again, in the 12th minute, picking up where she left off in Calgary the week prior. Boychuk took over from there: she doubled the lead in the 44th, then made it three just three minutes into the second half. Noémi Paquin closed the night out in the 85th, the home crowd on its feet.

Calgary, April 25, 2026 – The Montréal Roses opened their 2026 Northern Super League season with a convincing 2-0 win over Calgary Wild FC on Saturday night at McMahon Stadium. Both goals were scored by Elyse Bennett, who delivered an outstanding first match in Roses colours.

The American forward, who joined Montreal this offseason from the NWSL's Orlando Pride, opened the scoring in the 37th minute and added her second in the early minutes of the second half. Bennett had already signalled her intent in the 8th minute, when her shot rattled the crossbar.

The Roses step onto the pitch at McMahon Stadium on Saturday with a clear target: build on what worked in 2025, and fix what didn’t.

What worked was the back of the house. In the NSL’s first season, no team gave up fewer goals than Montreal. Stéphanie Hill finished as the top-scoring defender in the league and earned a spot on the NSL Best XI. Co-captain Mégane Sauvé ranked 3rd in the circuit in tackles. The Roses qualified for the playoffs in their very first season, bowing out in the semi-finals to eventual finalists AFC Toronto.
