Halifax Tides FC fell 2-1 to Ottawa Rapid FCat Wanderers Grounds on Friday. After a hard-fought battle and several close attempts, a last-minute goal from Ottawa’s D.B. Pridham called the match.

Though the Tides opened the match with several attacking threats, Jyllissa Harris found the back of the net first in the 38th minute, capitalizing on a confusing deflection in the Halifax 18-yard box.

Halifax Tides FC dropped points again this week, this time at home against Vancouver Rise FC. Despite a strong overall showing from the Tides, their efforts fell short as the final whistle marked a 2-1 loss.

Tides FC began the match with clear offensive superiority, dominating possession and controlling the run of play. Relentless pressing from wide attackers Tiffany Cameron and Saorla Miller allowed them several early opportunities from the touch line and top of the 18-yard box, respectively.

Halifax Tides FC suffered their first loss of the 2026 campaign on Wednesday night against Ottawa Rapid FC. On a cold, wet evening, the Tides dealt with both the harsh elements and an aggressive Ottawa attack, losing 2-0 and falling to fourth in the table.

In a true game of two halves, the Tides came out swinging in the first. Heavy pressing allowed them several opportunities to open the scoring, most notably in the form of two outside-the-box chances from Syd Kennedy and Saorla Miller, with Kennedy’s screamer beating the keeper and hitting the crossbar.

Rylee Foster-Inman was an unyielding last line of defense as Halifax Tides FC faced off against AFC Toronto in their first away game of the season. On Sunday at BMO Field, the Tides held last year’s Northern Super League regular season champions to a 0-0 draw, earning a point on the road off the back of defensive excellence and off-the-ball discipline.

From the opening whistle, it was clear that the Tides knew their assignment. Facing off against an offensively-proven Toronto side, the Tides weathered the pressure and demanded respect on the pitch with their possession and counterattacks.

The Home of the Tides quilt project celebrates the first monumental season of pro women’s soccer in Halifax by taking all the love and excitement of the fans and stitching it into a giant patchwork quilt. All season long, fans shout words of support from the bleachers and uplifting the team with encouraging energy. We’ve captured some of that fan love and made it tangible by stitching it into this community quilt.

At the last game of the 2025 season, artists from the OSO team set up art tables with scraps of fabric and paint markers. We asked fans to take a moment to write and draw messages for the team by asking: What do you love about the Tides? Folks of all ages, longtime athletes and new soccer fans, people from Halifax and visitors from away, all participated in making patches. The patches include messages about the power of women in sport, the joy and excitement that fans feel for the team, and the love for the game that brings people together. If you take a closer look, you’ll see drawings of tidal waves, rainbows, soccer balls, and lots of love for Jawslyn the shark.

Halifax struck first in the 38th minute, when a corner kick found the head of centre back Addy Weichers as she broke through a crowded six-yard box.

Halifax Tides FC, the region’s first professional women’s soccer club, has officially established its year-round training base at the BMO Soccer Centre, home of Soccer Nova Scotia. Thanks to a collaborative grant from ACOA and BMO, and the expert design and construction by EMCO, the club has added purpose-built training, recovery, and operational spaces that bring the facility on par with other professional clubs across Canada.

“These upgrades give our athletes the tools, space, and comfort they need to train at an elite level right here in Nova Scotia,” said club president Val Malone. “It’s a major step forward for professional women’s soccer in Atlantic Canada, but it’s also just the beginning. This is the first facility of its kind in our region– but it’s not the finish line. There’s more to be done to grow the infrastructure our athletes deserve.”
