<p>CALGARY – Calgary Wild FC has announced some personnel changes ahead of the 2026 season. Head Coach Lydia Bedford will step away from her role to pursue an international opportunity. First Assistant Coach Sinead McSharry has been promoted to interim head coach. Caitlin Pavone has been hired as the club’s director of football operations.</p>
<p>Bedford has accepted a role with The Football Association as head coach of the England Women’s Under-23 team. Originally from England, Bedford departs after one season of leading the club.</p>

Calgary Wild FC is proud to announce the signing of hometown forward, Mya Jones, a dynamic attacking talent whose journey has taken her from local pitches, to the professional stage, and now back to where it all began.</p>
<p>“Calgary shaped me into who I am and the Wild FC is home. I’ve dreamed of playing in front of my friends and family my whole life at the highest level,” said Jones. “Being able to do that is a surreal experience that my younger self would be proud of. To be playing with some of my best friends that I grew up with, in front of my family – it makes me really emotional to be thinking about it, so I’m just excited to get started.”</p>

<p>“Our first 60 minutes, we outplayed the opposition technically, which is one of the things I asked them to do at the start,” said Wild FC head coach, Lydia Bedford. “I needed them to have better technical quality than Halifax, better movement off the ball and more controlled aggression – do that and we win the game, and when we assessed them at half time, we were on track with all of them.”</p>

<p>CALGARY—The Calgary Wild FC reached its 25-player roster capacity with the addition of Venezuelan defender, Michelle Romero, on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Romero, who has played professionally with a handful of clubs throughout Venezuela and Spain in addition to proudly suiting up for the Venezuelan National Team (U20 and U17) and has 20 caps with the senior national team at multiple international competitions, will look to provide additional reinforcement to Calgary Wild FC’s defensive unit when the club hosts the Halifax Tides FC, August 16. Romero is joining Calgary Wild FC directly from competing in Copa America where she played every minute for Venezuela.</p>
