CALGARY – Calgary Wild FC has announced some personnel changes ahead of the 2026 season. Head Coach Lydia Bedford will step away from her role to pursue an international opportunity. First Assistant Coach Sinead McSharry has been promoted to interim head coach. Caitlin Pavone has been hired as the club’s director of football operations.

Bedford has accepted a role with The Football Association as head coach of the England Women’s Under-23 team. Originally from England, Bedford departs after one season of leading the club.

CALGARY – One of Calgary’s brightest stars in the women’s game is coming home. Calgary Wild FC is proud to announce the signing of hometown forward, Mya Jones, a dynamic attacking talent whose journey has taken her from local pitches, to the professional stage, and now back to where it all began.

“Calgary shaped me into who I am and the Wild FC is home. I’ve dreamed of playing in front of my friends and family my whole life at the highest level,” said Jones. “Being able to do that is a surreal experience that my younger self would be proud of. To be playing with some of my best friends that I grew up with, in front of my family – it makes me really emotional to be thinking about it, so I’m just excited to get started.”

CALGARY – Three key additions are set to elevate the Calgary Wild FC this season as the club is proud to announce the signings of midfielder, Alexandria “Allie” Hess, goalkeeper, Molly Race, plus the strategic expertise of Dave Odorico as goalkeeping coach and assistant.

“The additions of Allie Hess and Molly Race represent significant enhancements to Wild FC,” said head coach, Lydia Bedford. “ Both bring strong winning mindsets, which align perfectly with the goals we’ve set for this season. Adding Dave to our coaching staff is a crucial step in fostering and maintaining that culture of success.”

CALGARY— Goalkeeper Katelin Talbert is the latest powerhouse to join Calgary Wild FC, bringing a fearless style, international experience, and a championship mindset to the Northern Super League.

Hailing from Sacramento, California, Talbert has left her mark across North America and Europe. From standout NCAA Division II performances with the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks, to professional stints with FH (Iceland), SL Benfica (Portugal), West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa (England), and Djugårdens IF (Sweden), Talbert brings a wealth of international experience and competitive fire to Calgary.

CALGARY— Calgary Wild FC is launching the Wild FC Academy, a high-performance development program embedded within the club, kicking off in February 2026. The Academy will be led by newly appointed Academy Director, Kennedi Kiarash, whose impressive coaching and playing background will be invaluable to Alberta’s aspiring female soccer stars.

The Academy will serve as the cornerstone of the club’s elite player development pathway, providing Alberta’s top young athletes with a professional, supportive and accessible environment where they can maximize their potential.

CALGARY— Calgary Wild FC announced on Wednesday the release of six players as the club prepares for the Northern Super League’s 2026 season. Departing from the organization are forwards Christie Gray and Danielle Steer; midfielder Madison Wilson; defenders Ally Green and Mijke Roelfsema; and goalkeeper Stephanie Bukovec.

Calgary Wild FC closed their final chapter on the inaugural season of the Northern Super League (NSL) with a 2-1 win over Vancouver Rise FC on Thursday night in front of a vibrant hometown crowd at McMahon Stadium.

On a day that celebrated International Day of the Girl, Calgary Wild FC put on a show worthy of the occasion, taking down the Halifax Tides FC 3-1 at McMahon Stadium in a dedicated fan appreciation match. As Wild FC took time to thank their supporters, the win stood as a proud tribute to those who have brought the energy, passion, and unwavering belief all season long.

“Our first 60 minutes, we outplayed the opposition technically, which is one of the things I asked them to do at the start,” said Wild FC head coach, Lydia Bedford. “I needed them to have better technical quality than Halifax, better movement off the ball and more controlled aggression – do that and we win the game, and when we assessed them at half time, we were on track with all of them.”

On a day that meant more than just the result, Calgary Wild FC fought with heart and purpose but were edged 2-1 by AFC Toronto in a spirited performance that left it all on the pitch on Saturday, October 4 at McMahon Stadium.

Calgary Wild FC did what they needed to on Saturday afternoon, earning a commanding 2-0 victory over Montreal Roses FC in Laval, Que., to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Under the lights on Wednesday evening, Wild FC brought passion, pace and purpose to the pitch in a hard-fought contest against Ottawa Rapid FC, that ended in a narrow 2-1 result.

“The togetherness that we managed to create over the last couple of days really stood out on the pitch tonight,” said Lydia Bedford, head coach of the Wild FC. “After the end result of tonight’s match, as a coach that’s a team that I’m proud to work with. For me, the players had to take responsibility to show how much they were willing to give tonight on the pitch.”

CALGARY— Calgary Wild FC has strengthened its roster with the addition of Calgarian, Andersen Williams, a versitile midfielder and forward, and Montreal goalkeeper Laurence Gladu.

“We are pleased to welcome Andersen and Laurence to the squad,” said Alix Bruch, sporting director, Calgary Wild FC. “Both players have brought exciting new energy into our environment.”

A relentless Calgary Wild FC squad showed no quit in a 2-0 loss to AFC Toronto on Saturday afternoon.

Looking for their first win against the powerful Toronto club, the Wild FC controlled the majority of the possession time but struggled to breakthrough the midfield and mount an attack.

CALGARY—Calgary Wild FC captain, Meggie Dougherty Howard, is now ready to call the Stampede City home.

The standout American midfielder, who brings a wealth of leadership experience that she acquired while playing eight years in the national women’s soccer league (NWSL), has signed an extension with the Calgary Wild FC through the 2028 season.

Kathryn Harvey was brought into the Calgary Wild FC lineup less than one month ago to help bolster the offensive attack.

On Saturday, she did exactly that.

CALGARY—The Calgary Wild FC reached its 25-player roster capacity with the addition of Venezuelan defender, Michelle Romero, on Wednesday.

Romero, who has played professionally with a handful of clubs throughout Venezuela and Spain in addition to proudly suiting up for the Venezuelan National Team (U20 and U17) and has 20 caps with the senior national team at multiple international competitions, will look to provide additional reinforcement to Calgary Wild FC’s defensive unit when the club hosts the Halifax Tides FC, August 16. Romero is joining Calgary Wild FC directly from competing in Copa America where she played every minute for Venezuela.

The Calgary Wild FC snagged their first ever victory over Ottawa Rapid FC with a clean sheet on Saturday evening.

The determined squad from the Wild Rose province stormed into the Nation’s Capital and ended a three-game losing skid with a 1-0 triumph.

Calgary Wild FC battled to the final whistle in their first road match in Montreal, but an early surge from the Roses FC proved the difference in a 2-0 result on Saturday night.

The hosts struck twice in the opening six minutes to seize early control. Within the first minute, Latifah Abdu capitalized on a turnover and minutes later, Tanya Boychuck doubled down on the Roses lead.
